This year was the first year maybe ever where we didn't have any extended family in town. NO ONE! It was actually ok for us though. We went out to eat instead of cooking and cleaning all day. What a nice change! That said, I'm cooking a turkey tomorrow anyways. I guess I still need my fix or something! This year we also decided to go cut our own Christmas tree down. We went on Thanksgiving morning and found the world's most perfect tree. Dave was slightly less than pleasant about the whole experience in general, but is slowly coming back around. He has an issue with mixing holidays (love you honey :o). Overall, we are so grateful this year for Dave's job. He's definately paid his dues with truly crappy jobs and bosses. He finally found a winner and for as long as it lasts we are grateful. We are also grateful for the many people around us who watch out for us and help us in times of need. I'm grateful for my children and their amazing spirits and strength. It seems like everyday I find new reasons to be grateful for my Dave. What can I say? He's my soul mate. I'm grateful that he has always allowed me to be me and he loves me for the best things about me. I'm grateful for unconditional family that gave me the tools I needed to be a somewhat productive adult! I'm grateful for my calling which has really helped me get my family thinking more about physical, emotional, and spiritual preparedness. I'm grateful for my health and strength. I'm grateful I don't have a newborn right now! I'm grateful to have a vehicle that runs well. I'm grateful for the yummy food we eat everday and for the abundance the earth provides. I absolute love my life an grateful to the Lord for it all. Anyways, here come the pics!

What cute pics and the tree is beautiful! Is that the tree you guys cut down yourselves? We did a live tree one year and lets just say that was and will be the last time! Your brave!!!
Hey, I enjoyed being at the tree farm! If only we were there on a different day... :)
I echo your gratitudes. You are My One.
Your tree looks great! Fun pics of the tykes too! Sam is getting big- love his hair!
Glad you had a Thanksgiving to yourselves. We enjoyed the ones we shared with you though!! Love your pictures, you all look great :) Miss you!!
Great Tree!!! it sure is Full!:) your family is so beautiful. ps i like Dave on his phone hiding behind the tree.;)
What a fat tree. It looks great! We are going to cut one down from our front yard...it is quite the charlie brown tree but will serve a dual purpose. Christmas tree and a space for me to plant something prettier.
I like the idea of goign out to dinner rather than the whole mess, especially if it's just your family.
What a nice sweet post!
Your tree is beautiful! We always cut our own, my Dave just thinks that's the only way to do it. And it was so fun for Jayden this year, he really loved it.
