And the rockets' red glare...

This year we decided to take the kids back to Lake Tobias Wildlife Preserve. It was a blast. It was 80 degrees and sunny with a really great breeze. After we were done there we picked up 20 lbs. of blueberries and I set off to can them. Luckily for me Dave took the boys swimming at the neighbors pool so I could just work away. I ended up freezing about half of them and processing the other half into 20 jars of blueberry pie filling. I actually don't love blueberries but these were incredible! The sauce was not too sweet and heavy. It worked out great! If anyone wants the recipe just let me know and I'll get it to you. Also, it was really nice to not have to mash, peel, or pit anything. Hallelujah! The kids got to do fireworks on the driveway and stay up really late. We even sang a few patriotic songs. Those always make me cry. I really love this country. I especially love that so many people loved it enough to fight for it for me. For my family. For my faith. For my freedom. God Bless America!

Here's Ethan with a new baby goat. Too cute!

Here are some pictures of the blueberries!
