The Big Apple

On Friday Dave and I got the opportunity to spend an awesome evening in NYC. Dave had a celebration dinner for a project he had worked on with a group of people from his work. We hopped on a train with no kids. It was so sweet! I especially loved that it started to rain just as the train was taking off. There's something so romantic about jumping on a train with the love of your life in the rain. Like a movie! Anyways, the dinner was awesome. We ate at Beccos. It's one of "Lidia's" Italian restaurants. She's the one that does that Lidia's Italy cooking show on TV. We ate various strange appetizers, octopus, sword fish, 3 different types of pasta dishes, ceasar salad, chicken, steak, and dessert! So tasty. Then we stayed the night at the Harvard Club right there in the theatre district. It was walking distance to time square and the broadway shows. The club has been around since sometime in the 1800s. The best part is that we were only gone for about a day and a half so I didn't feel worried about the kids. It was truly the perfect break. Plus I got to read an actual book in peace on the train ride there and back. Pretty cool. Thanks again to my dear mother in law for her expert baby sitting skills. Here are some pictures...

Here is the Harrisburg train station. It is really quaint and old fashioned. The below picture was taken through the train window.
Here is Penn Station in NY. It is affectionately called "the bowels of hell"! It's all underground and like 100 degrees and smelly all year round.

Here's our room. I'd like to note that these 2 walls were the ONLY walls that weren't red.
Here are Dave and I at the restaurant. I wish you could see the glass ceiling above our heads. It was thundering and lightning the whole time we ate.
More of the Harvard Club...
