Here we are on the way to the surgery center at 5:30 in the morning. Niklas thought I was CRAZY. He couldn't figure out why were getting out of our bed in the middle of the night to go to the doctor.
At this point he still thought things were going ok. He liked the cool red socks he got.
I think he thought this was pretty cool actually. They ended up giving his puppy a mask and a hair net too. Right after this picture they took him away from me and we both started crying! It was terrible to see those big blue eyes looking at me like I was a traitor.
A few minor complications and 6 hours later we were home. He was soooooo brave though. He's got a uvula the size of Kansas and no tonsils or adenoids. The special bonus was the ear tubes. All he kept asking for was his popsicles, jello, and "special pudding" that the other boys don't get!

Once Oscar had to be tied down to that papoose board for stitches and I couldn't stand it. I cried like crazy...I cannot imagine sending him into surgery where I couldn't see.
What a brave mom!
Glad to hear everything went well. Keep him healthy during his recovery.
So glad things went well with Nik's surgery. Little guys are tough! I am with you. When Hobie had to go under to get some piece of rust out of his eye, very hard!!!
SO Brave and SO Handsome!! Don't forget to save his fizzy :)
Aww, sometimes I think it's tougher on parents than the little kiddos when they need procedures like that. We're so glad things went well with Nik's surgeries. Hope he heals fast.
He had such a big smile up to the very moment! What a trooper. My kids would have started worrying as soon as I said we were going to the doctor!
I am glad everything went well. This kid has been through a lot...tell him the Griffin's think he ROCKS!!! The girls were very impressed by his bravery and loved that his puppy was able to be there with him.
Cute photos. I had my adednoids out when I was 6. I remember milking the system for extra popsicles & jello too! Way to go Nick!
